PolÃticas sectoriales en innovación en la agricultura: Experiencias y lecciones para fomentar productos estratégicos para la seguridad alimentaria en Centroamérica

Resume: The aim of this paper is to present the results of an analysis of experiences in which policies that encourage the use of technologies in agriculture are related with productivity performances. This study is a contribution to the work that the RUTA-USAID Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Program. The study starts from the consideration that some commodities for food security as corn and beans (as a source of food) and coffee and cacao (as sources of income and employment) have shown no positive changes in productivity which might be causes of the deepening of the problems of food insecurity for the people dpending on those items.
