Resume: The agricultural sector in Central America has made significant efforts to benefit from free trade, however, important differences remain among countries. The inter-regional agricultural trade --Central America and Dominican Republic-- has shown, in the last decade, a rapid growth as the agricultural exports to the world. In the region, the food industry has experimented a more dynamic rise than the primary agriculture sector. Although, exports of some products -- family farming or labor-intensive related-- have also increased considerably during this period, and it would have implications for food security.
